For years the equine industry has been battling hoof wall issues. Special shock absorbing pads, sole packing, multi density pads, and composite shoes, as well as egg bars, heart bars, and wedge shoes, have been developed to prolong a horse’s comfort and career. Technology has made it possible to manage lameness better and for a longer period of time. Equicast is a novel casting material, developed specifically for hoof wall failure that takes hoof-care technology in a whole new direction.
