For years the equine industry has been battling hoof wall issues.
Special shock absorbing pads, sole packing, multi density pads, and
composite shoes, as well as egg bars, heart bars, and wedge shoes, have
been developed to prolong a horse’s comfort and career. Technology has
made it possible to manage lameness better and for a longer period of
time.
Equicast is a novel casting material, developed specifically for hoof
wall failure that takes hoof-care technology in a whole new direction.
Equicast wrapping process does more than manage hoof lameness--the
patent pending process treats the cause. Adding temporary support to the
hoof wall gives nature a chance to grow a stronger and healthier hoof.
Unhealthy, shelly, uneven feet are the major cause of lameness and
career ending injuries. When a horse begins pointing, growing flares,
dishing, and or developing differences in hoof angles, THIS is the time
to take action--at the first sign of uneven growth. The ability to
notice these slight changes, and the knowledge and tools to correct
them, means that by using Equicast we can
actually treat the CAUSE of lameness, rather than manage lameness that
has already occurred.

is a product and a process that has developed over
the last 20 years. Using cast on 100s of cases with
veterinarians and farriers we have developed a process that is
very user friendly and very effective. The tape is designed
specifically for hoof wall failure. The fiberglass weave and
thread are stronger and there is more resin in each roll then
standard human casting tape. The process has been developed to
address hoof wall failure and hoof lameness. Following the
directions and good shoeing science you will see remarkable
changes in hoof wall quality and the soundness of many horses.
